Just came across this song in Hype Machine. I have heard it out in the bars in Williamsburg once or twice and now I know the name, and subsequently so do you.
Go Check Out: Best Coast - When I'm With You

This is not the image for the song, but I really love this photo. Check out the song here. It is a Remix of the Au Revoir Simone song "Shadows" by the Teenagers.

This piece is unbelievable and a definite must see. I don't care if you grew up in the eighties or just have an affliction for them through contemporary mediums, but being in this space with this work transports you back to a lively, dare I say it, more carefree time. Read more and more photos after the jump.

It’s easy these days to lose hours reading meaningless shit on the internet. However, I feel it is necessary to link you to one of my new favorite guilty web pleasures, Dear Uncle Steve: Relationship Advice from Steve Lewis & a Girl. First, if you know Steve Lewis, you know that his stories and personality can be mesmerizing, and this is not an overstatement. As Steve frequently drops by the store, I always look forward to what I have come to equate to as that cool friend of your parents when you were a kid that could hold your attention with endless stories of fantastic places and sticky situations you could only dream of. Well, this column that he writes for Black Book with Eiseley Tauginas is similarly entertaining, thoughtfully poignant, and peppered with storied life experience.
Check it out here:
Steve also writes a column titled Good Night Mr. Lewis, which will keep you up to date on life, as only someone like Steve could possibly do.

If you’re like me you hate when people mess with your radio, or better yet when you just want to go to sleep and someone insists on playing music in your time of peace and relaxation. I hate that. However, a couple of weeks ago I was forced against my will to listen to something that at first I resented, but now I can’t get out of my head. I feel kind of self-conscious writing about music and especially new music, because I am in no way shape or form at any forefront of a music scene, but I think you should check out Ladyhawke. Take a listen to My Delirium, and Paris Is Burning in particular, but the whole album is easily swallowed.

For the past couple of days I have been on a quest for unadulterated sun, sand, and adventure qualified by great booze and rough talking men all in my cold and obnoxious apartment. Last week a conversation in a bar well after the witching hour sparked a fond memory of the work of Ernest Hemmingway, and thus led me back to one of his greatest works, Islands in the Stream. The novel, published posthumously by his publisher and his sons, is a biographical piece of fictions that describes men acting like boys and boys becoming men. The rich descriptions of the dandy life on an island in the
